Common ear problems we treat

  • Blocked or clogged ears — from ear wax, fluid, or infection. We perform gentle microscopic ear cleaning (ear toilet) under a high-definition Leica microscope.
  • Ear infections — outer ear (swimmer’s ear) and middle ear infections in both adults and children.
  • Hearing loss — sudden or gradual. We assess the cause and arrange hearing tests.
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) — investigation and management of persistent ringing or buzzing.
  • Dizziness and vertigo — including BPPV. Full balance testing (Dix-Hallpike, head-thrust and more).
  • Ear discharge — ongoing wet or smelly discharge, which may point to a perforated eardrum or chronic infection.
  • Perforated eardrum — repair surgery (myringoplasty / tympanoplasty), often endoscopically.
  • Cholesteatoma and chronic ear disease — surgical treatment including mastoidectomy.
  • Glue ear in children — grommet (ear tube) insertion.

Why patients choose Dr Puvan for ear problems

Dr Puvan’s specialist interest is otology — the study and surgery of the ear. He has adopted minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery, which can mean smaller cuts and more comfortable recovery. The clinic uses German-designed ENT workstations, Karl Storz SPIES imaging, and high-definition Leica microscopes for accurate diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions

When should I see an ENT for ear pain?

If ear pain lasts more than a few days, comes with hearing loss, discharge, fever or dizziness, or keeps coming back, see an ENT specialist.

Can ear wax be removed safely?

Yes. We remove wax gently under a microscope rather than syringing, which is safer and more comfortable.

Is ear surgery painful?

Modern endoscopic ear surgery is minimally invasive. Dr Puvan will explain what to expect for your specific case.
